Placerville encompasses a very large area of varying topography -rolling hills, pastoral, or forested with oaks and pines. The streets of Main Street in Placerville feels like a visit to the Old West with antique shops and quaint restaurants. Remnants of the Gold Rush Days. Surrounding the old town are the newer parts of Placerville with the Wal-Mart's, Home Depot's and more.
There is quite an extensive wine growing region south of Placerville with award winning wines and wineries such as Charles Mitchell, Perry Creek, Fitzpatrick, Granite Springs and Windwalker - all located in close proximity to each other off Fairplay Road.
This is still considered a reasonable commute distance for buyers working in the Folsom, Rancho Cordova or Sacramento areas.

Most are gated, equestrian communities of 5-10 acre parcels and custom homes. Prices range from $500k-$1.5mil.
Auburn Lake Trails is a gated community located in Cool, California. ALT is comprised of both homes on residential lots and homes on acreage. There are private horse trails within this community, and it also meets up with the Western States Trails system. There is also a golf course, tennis and swimming pool for the community residents. Home prices start in the $300k's.
Granite Bay is situated on the north shore of Folsom Lake about 25 miles northeast of Sacramento on the eastern edge of the Sacramento Valley at the base of the Sierra foothills.

I grew up in Northern California and love working with horse people. Just give me a barn full of hay to bring back those great childhood memories. I can even be coaxed on a trail ride, now and again.
I am proud Mom to 5 young adults (ages 22 to 33)and proud first time Grammie. I have lived with my husband of 34 years and family in El Dorado County for over 24 years.
